Leicester Gay Pride 2009

Organisers of Leicester Pride have announced that pop-rap vocal group Blazin’ Squad will headline at next month’s event. The festival, which this year has the theme of La Cage aux Folles, takes place on Saturday 5 September. For the first time ever, the event will be located within the city ring road and at the heart of the gay community on Belgrave Gate. Along with Blazin’ Squad, attractions include the Pride parade through the city streets, the Main Stage, the LGBT Centre's community and health marquee, and a variety of community workshops. Leicester’s gay and lesbian football team will be running a big barbeque, and there'll be a host of rides and attractions to enjoy, courtesy of Billy Bates Fun Fair. Saturday 5th September from 12pm A carnival atmosphere will fill the streets of Leicester. As the parade takes the theme La Cage aux folles- young and old, gay and straight, friends and family – All we ask is that you have a good time! This year the parade starts at 12.45pm on Saturday 5th september and will congregate on High street from 12pm with Street preformers to entertain you. Please Note: This years parade is a walking parade therefore NO Vechiles are allowed within the parade, And would all orginisations and individuals please register for the parade with in plenty of time.
